Big hug and high five...

Yes, Daddyluv and I are still under the weather. I officically look like Rudolph -- I am blowing my nose so much. We can't decide if we are actually sick or are just having a horrible allergy attack. We did get some antibiotics, though. I will wait until tomorrow to see how I feel before I start taking them. We went to Chuck E. Cheese and had dinner tonight. GrandmaLuv met us there and joined us for pizza. Babyluv was so excited about riding the rides and seeing Chuck E. Cheese that she hardly ate any of her pizza. When she saw Chuck E. Cheese himself, she ran to him and gave him a big hug and a "high five." It was great fun watching her. She is so precious!!!

As for my pregnant colleague, she is okay. She is about 16 weeks pregnant and had some spotting. The Dr. said that because she has been so constipated (and straining) she popped a mini blood vessel in her uterus. They did a sonogram to make sure the baby was okay. Everything looked great -- baby already weighs 4 oz. They also found out they were having a BOY!!! They are so excited. The Dr. told her take some stool softeners and to take it easy. So, thank you LORD for taking care of my friend Heather!!!

I am a little stressed regarding my Christmas shopping. I have not bought anything for Daddyluv. I went to the store in search of one thing today and they did not have his size. Just my luck! So, I will just have to tackle the crowds and resume on Friday. It ought to be fun. : (

Well, enough for now. Only two more days at TX Healthcare...gosh I am going to miss some cool people.

Merry Christmas!!

Babyluv got "jipped."

Babyluv had a Christmas party today at her sitter's house. Daddyluv (a part-time wedding photographer) decided he wanted to go and take pictures of this fabulous event. All the kids wore antlers and had their noses painted red. The pictures were so cute. There are 8 kids total and Babyluv loves it there. The oldest child will be 4 in March and the youngest will be 2 in May. There are 5 girls and 3 boys. Well, everything went well except that Babyluv got "jipped" on her gift exchange. Each kid drew a name and they were told to bring a gift (no more than $10) for that child. Babyluv drew Brooke's name and we bought her some really neat
stuff -- I ended up spending $12. We bought her some dress-up necklaces, 2 Dora the Explorer figures, a My Little Pony figure, and a Disney Princess Memory Game. Babyluv opened her gift and only received a purse-shaped notebook...no crayons, no markers, no pens, nothing else. That was it...what the crap!!!! Daddyluv said that Babyluv actually had a disappointed look on her face because all of the other kids received cool gifts. How sad! Even the babysitter was disappointed with the gift Babyluv received.

Work went well today -- trying to visit with all of my clients to deliver Christmas goodies and say my farewells. I only have one week left! I did have one concern today...I have a colleague that is 15 weeks pregnant and is spotting a little. She called her ob/gyn (the same as mine -- I referred her) and he told her to stay in bed all day today and come see him tomorrow morning for a sonogram. If it had been a true concern, I think he would have sent her to the hospital, don't you think? Well, I hope everything turns out okay. Her and her husband had been trying for a couple of years to get pregnant and finally resorted to artificial insemination. It worked on the 1st try.

Well, I need to go and take a hot shower. Hopefully, the steam will help clear my nasal passages a little. Daddyluv and I are still under the weather.

So very busy...

Gosh, I have been very busy these past few days. Also, our little Babyluv is sick. I took her to the Dr. on Friday and she has strep-throat and a sinus infection. Wow, poor thing!! Although she has been ill, she is still hyper, fun and cheerful. She has been a little clingy but I don't mind one bit. I love holding her in my arms and comforting her. Sometimes Daddyluv and I go and wake her up and bring her to our bed so that we can cuddle with her. She is feeling much better -- but now Daddyluv is sick and I myself am feeling under the weather, too. Good grief.

I finally submitted my letter of resignation today -- last day of employment is the 27th. My boss knew that I was going to return to education someday so he was not too surprised. I am a little sad about leaving my job because of the following reasons: 1) The pay is a little better, 2) I have met so many nice people, 3) the flexible schedule, and 4) I loved wining and dining people (stuffing my face at restaurants). Gosh...that is probably why I still can't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes just yet!!!! Hmmmmm! But, it needed to be done. It is time to move on and start working on my plan to enter the world of school administration.

Well, I start teaching the 4th of January. I am a little nervous about returning to the classroom because I have been out of education for 3 years AND I will be at a school where I know very few people. The neat thing about this school is that my babysitter lives about 3 minutes away. After discussing my worries with Daddyluv, he assured me that I would be great. He is a little biased, don't you think?

After looking through my closet, I decided that I will need to go and shop for some "school" clothes, mainly tops and sweaters because I have plenty of cute pants. I am taking my "hip" sister with me to help me with my wardrobe design and selection. My sister told me, "Just because you are 30 does not mean you are an old lady, so don't dress like one." Okay first of all, my 23 year-old sister is 5'7" and weighs 110 pounds!!! Of course SHE can dress "hip" and look absolutely GORGEOUS. I, on the other hand have had a child and do NOT weigh 110 pounds. I have to choose clothes that aren't too tight because my "love handles" will be revealed. I also have to carefully select hip huggers because if they are too low, you can see my stretch marks (I only have a couple). So...it ought to be an interesting shopping experience for us both!

Well, I need to go and get ready for bed -- busy day tomorrow. God bless you all!!

Be nice to me, Mommy!

Wow...what a day and night! I had a busy day at work -- so much to do before I quit. My evening was just as busy. I went to get Babyluv from the sitter at 4:30 and then we went home, fed the dogs, changed clothes, and then we relaxed for about 15 minutes. Then at 5:30, Babyluv and I left the house. While in route to grab dinner for Babyluv and Grandma (the babysitter for the evening), I noticed that Babyluv was scratching a scab on her forehead. I told her to leave her forehead alone. She loves to pick at her scabs -- which makes them take much longer to heal. Then, she started to scratch the scab on her face. I said, "Baby, don't scratch your face -- your "ouch" will not get better if you keep scratching it." Then, she decided to take off her shoes. I asked her "Honey, why did you take off your shoes? We are going to Grandma's house." I guess she was frustrated with my nagging because she sternly said, "No be mean! Be nice to me, Mommy!" Wow...can you believe that? She is so funny! Well, I dropped her off at Grandma's house and off I went to meet Daddyluv at Chili's . He and I met some of my clients for dinner at 6:00 p.m. So, we only got to spend about 3 hours today with our sweet Babyluv -- so sad!!! I don't have to work tomorrow so we will spend lots of time together.

I love the Christmas season -- however this year, I will not be mailing Christmas cards. I feel so bad because we have received about 15 already from friends and family and they will not be receiving one from us. I was not able to find a picture of Babyluv that I wanted to use for our card this year. We even went to the Galleria to try to take some cute pictures but she was not in a "picture taking mood" and we could not get her to smile or even look happy for that matter. We did not take any family pictures this year that are Christmas card worthy. So, this year I guess you can call me a "grinch." I went to the store in search of cute Christmas cards and none appealed to me. I promise -- I am a nice person and I do have at least half a heart. Just know that I am thinking of you all and praying that you have a wonderful Holiday Season with many wonderful blessings!!!!!

Holiday Fun

I am so stuffed. I should probably change my name to MRS. CLAUS! When I came home from work, I popped a cheese pizza in the oven and Babyluv and I ate half of it. Babyluv and I love pizza!!!!!! Then, Daddyluv (the pizza-hater) decided we should go and run a photography errand (he is a wedding photographer), go see some Christmas lights, and then go to Cheesecake Factory to eat an appetizer and salad. Cheesecake Factory http://cheesecakefactory.com/ is one of the greatest restaurants in all of Dallas and they have the best cheesecakes in the world (in my opinion). Of course, I said YES. We had a great time seeing the lights and Babyluv was so happy. We listened to Christmas music on the radio and just enjoyed being together. Babyluv would at times give us her rendition of "Jingle Bells." She is so cute. Babyluv turned TWO in September. She too, is a miracle baby. I had two miscarriages before I was able to conceive her. I had my first one on February 18, 2002 and my second one on October 9, 2002. Babyluv was conceived in December 2002 and was born September 4, 2003. Being pregnant was wonderful -- loved being pregnant. During my pregnancy, I gained 51 pounds, Yes, I have lost most of it. My body has shifted and widened in some areas but that is to be expected -- my Babyluv came two weeks early and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. She is a blessing from God!! Back to our evening...by the time we arrived at the restaurant it was already 8:30 -- Babyluv's bedtime. However, she sat through dinner and happily ate with us. She is so funny! After sharing a huge salad and roasted artichoke with my hubby, we even ordered a Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake to go. Gosh, we are such PIGS!!! I am so stuffed -- I can't believe I ate so much tonight. Even my pajamas feel tight!!!! Right now, I am watching my hubby eat our cheesecake. Where does he put it all? I don't see any cellulite on HIS thighs!!!

Although I am exhausted, it was a wonderful night and we had a great time. Take care and Happy Holidays!

Oh...I need to share a funny story -- we are in the middle of teaching the potty training process with Babyluv. Babyluv, on the other hand has no desire to go tee-tee in the potty. In an attempt to make it a fun experience, we bought her some really cute "Big Girl Panties." She wears them sometimes just for fun. She loves them but asks for a diaper when she feels the urge to use the potty. She refuses to use the bathroom outside of her diaper. She asks to wear "bgp" all of time. Of course, we tell her that she can wear "BGP" when she learns to use the potty. Well, she is totally fascinated with "BGP" and evens asks to see mine all of the time. On Saturday night, Daddyluv was getting ready for a Christmas party and was ironing his pants while wearing only a shirt and underwear. Babyluv went up to him and said, "Daddy - I like your "big girl panties." Daddyluv and I laughed for about an hour. We love having a toddler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until later,
Mommyluv

I'm a snarfle rookie!

Thanks snarflemarfle for referring me to your blog -- I love it! I like the idea of web journaling. I am new and will probably be extremely basic for a while, or at least until I get the hang of it.

Today was a good day. In two weeks, I will no longer be working for my company. I will not be able to deliver my resignation letter until Monday because the entire management team went on a cruise. As of right now, only one person at my works knows that I am leaving and I made that promise not to tell anyone. By the time I submit my letter of resignation, they will only have 8 days to find a replacement. Finding a replacement should not be difficult, my job is easy. I am a marketer for a chiropractor. I spend most of my time with personal injury attorneys -- wining and dining them. I have been with this company for nearly three years and have enjoyed being a part of their team. However, it is time for me to move on to greener pastures. A friendly individual with half a personality will qualify for my position. It also helps if you are a semi-attractive woman and have a decent-looking body. Well, my semi-nice body disappeared after I had a child, plus I have no boobs. Believe me, I proudly gave up my body to become a MOMMY!!!

So, what am I going to do now? I have decided to return to education as a High School Spanish teacher. I started out as ateacher and taught 6 years before leaving and joining the business world three years ago. I actually hope to only teach another year or two. I would like to become an Assistant Principal (middle school) within the next 2-3 years. Yes, I am taking a paycut returning to the classroom but I have to hope and pray that I am making the right decision and that God will continue to bless me (and my family). I would love to be a SAHM, but I married a teacher and everyone knows that teachers are POOR! I do like the time off, though!! As an educator, I look forward to being at home in the summer, spring breaks, Christmas holidays and etc. with my Daddyluv and Babyluv.

Well, I neeed to go and blow dry my hair. Take care.
