Baby Ash is 10 weeks old!

Baby Ash is now 10 weeks old. At her two month appointment, she was 23.5 inches long and weighed 9 lbs. 15 oz. At birth, she was 20 inches long and weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. She is definitely growing (must be that yummy breastmilk). She is so much fun. She started smiling a few weeks ago and when she does, she takes your breath away. KB loves to make her smile - Baby Ash loves her big sister so much. When Baby Ash smiles, KB just bursts with laughter. It makes the whole family laugh. Baby Ash makes so many little noises. She is trying so hard to talk. You can tell that she has so many stories to tell already. And, when she sees her Mommy, her face lights up and she kicks her little legs. You can imagine how that makes Mommy feel! She loves bath time and especially loves it when Big Sister rubs lotion on her feet. Her eyes are dark blue but they will probably change to brown over the next few months. She definitely has more hair than her big sister had but not enough to hold a bow. No need to worry - nylon headbands rule! She loves to wear pretty dresses and sport a variety of hairbows - definitely a future diva. We just love our little Princess!!!

Happy Birthday, Honey!

My hubby turned 35 years young yesterday. We had a great evening. We went to eat dinner at our favorite restaurant - Texas de Brazil (because we had a buy one/get one free coupon). Then, I had his family over for cake afterward. He did not know that I had invited his family (about 15 people) over for cake and ice cream. I also did something special...instead of bringing a gift, I had each family member write their favorite memory or share how my hubby has impacted their life. I read their responses at the party last night. It was so wonderful. I even learned some new things/facts about my hubby. This special "gift" had us all in tears - mainly because we were laughing so hard. But, there were also tears of gratitude. It was so sweet to hear how my husband helped his brother combat depression and how he impacted the lives of his nieces. I was moved to tears to hear what my in-laws had to say about their son. Our 4 year-old daughter even had something to say. My hubby is a super-wonderful person and is the best thing that has ever happened to me (the 2nd being my girls). This "gift idea" allowed him to see how his presence in this world has impacted others. He loved it!! I love you, Honey!!! Happy 35th Birthday!!
