Introducing....

Ashlyn Blair Ferguson

11 days old

Well, Baby Ash is now 11 days old and had her first check-up. She is doing great! She has gained quite a bit of weight. She weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. at birth. When we left the hospital (4 days later), she weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. The pediatrician at the hospital was very happy with her discharge weight. Today, she weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. on the doctor's scale. Wow, I totally did not expect that much of a weight gain - that is 11 ounces in one week!! I was a little concerned with her nursing routine. She only nurses 10-15 minutes at a time. Obviously, she knows what she is doing. She has also grown 1/4 of an inch. She is no longer wearing preemie diapers!

As for me...I am doing okay. I still experience a little pain from the c-section incision but that is to be expected. I also got a viral infection and was sick for about 24 hours. I had a horrible headache, chills and a high temperature (101 +). I also had no energy. I can't believe I managed to feed Baby Ash during those 24 hours of misery. My Dr. said it was normal after having surgery. Luckily, it is now out of my system. This week has been pretty good for me because my sweet aunt has been with us helping out in all sorts of ways. She is great at maintaining the household duties, playing with and entertaining KB, hanging out with me when hubby has to work, and cuddling/spoiling Baby Ash! She has totally been a blessing this past week!

Well, I need to go because it is time to feed Baby Ash. I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

Ashlyn Blair Ferguson was born Friday, March 7th at 5:26 p.m. She came a little earlier than expected! She weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 inches long. She is long and thin! She is absolutely beautiful and I promise to post pictures of her soon!
