4 months and 9 days

Baby Ash is now 4 months and 9 days old. Unfortunately, on her 4 month birthday, my grandfather passed away and we were too busy and sad to post. We drove to Abilene that same day and stayed for 4 days. My grandfather was only 72 years old, but had many health problems. Now, he is in a better place!

Baby Ash is so cute! She rolls over quite a bit now. She first rolled over on June 27th (back to tummy and tummy to back). It was so adorable to watch! She laughs, giggles, makes cute little noises, grabs everything (especially her feet), and has the greatest facial expressions. She makes the cutest lip-smacking noise that makes us all laugh. I love to see her smile!! Her morning smile just warms my heart and makes my day. She is a morning person for about 5 minutes and then realizes that she is hungry and her mood quickly changes. That is just enough time to change her diaper and get her ready to nurse. Baby Ash enjoys playing with some of her toys -- especially her plush, mini-baby doll. She really likes toys that make cool noises. Our dogs have become quite the tool for laughter with Baby Ash. She loves to watch them chase each other - it sends her into an uncontrollable, belly laugh. Our little princess loves being held and loves hanging out with her Big Sis! She sleeps 10 hours every night and is nursing well. She does like to look around while nursing - just to be sure she is not missing out on anything. And, because she is teething, she sometimes likes to use "Mommy" as a teething toy. This does not feel so good!!! Because she is teething, we have nicknamed her the "drooling monster." Goodness, I can't believe the drool! We decided to introduce rice cereal at 5 months. We will definitely record that special event. How fun!!

Today, we took Baby Ash to the Dr. for her 4-month check-up and shots! She has definitely grown a bunch. She is now wearing 3-6 months in her clothes!!

Here are her stats:

Height: 25.75 inches long (90th percentile)

Weight: 14 lbs. 2 oz. (55th percentile)

Head: 16.5 inches (75th percentile)

The Dr. was very impressed with her and he even got her to smile and giggle. It was so sweet! We just love that little girl. What a blessing!!

She is precious! And she's bigger than Buttercup was at 4 months!

Buttercup is quite interested in everything else happening around her while she's nursing, too. But I think her chunky-monkey legs tell me that she's getting enough food.

*Ouch* on the teething. I'm hoping that Buttercup follows her brother's lead on that and waits until 15 months to get a tooth!!
